Polar Plunge returns to Cache Valley on Friday, March 3rd and it's time to get Freezin' For A Reason!

What's your reason, you may ask? There are SO many reasons, and just a few of them probably live in your community. Did you know that our program in Logan is growing both in the community as well as the schools? By supporting a fundraising event like Cache Valley Polar Plunge, you are also supporting those athletes in your community who participate in Special Olympics & Unified Sports!

A very windy evening did not deter the 200 guests and Special Olympics athletes from an evening of bocce play, tasty food, and silent auction fun.

Thanks to the leadership of SOUT Board Chair, Michelle Wolfenbarger and the generosity of guests and sponsors, over $113,000 was raised to support the mission of Special Olympics Utah. We want to extend a huge thank you to the event partners, silent auction donors, guests, volunteers, and athletes who contributed to the success of the Black & White Bocce Ball. Hope to see you on the bocce court in 2022!

We smiled, we ate BBQ and we Walked for Inclusion!

It was a beautiful day at Liberty Park in Salt Lake City as our community came together to show support for diversity, acceptance, and inclusion on Thursday, August 12th. Special Olympics Utah athletes, parents, and supporters from around the state have been raising funds to walk for Special Olympics Utah– and boy did they raise those funds! With the generous support and sponsorship from Veterans Trading Co. and FluxPower Inc. combined with the support from our community, friends and family, we hit our fundraising goal of $15,000!

We kicked-off the walk with a few words and giant ribbon-cutting by Salt Lake City Mayor, Erin Mendenhall! Participants walked the almost 2-mile loop around Liberty Park and were awarded a medal with a smile from a Special Olympics Utah athlete as they crossed the finish line. It was a great time not only walking but learning about local community programs and groups. Some of the awesome groups we had join us were Miss Amazing, Salt Lake County Recreation Adaptive Program, Young Athletes Program, Miss America USA, Fit To Recover, Salt Lake Fire Department, Unified Sports, Healthy Athletes, Salt Lake Police Department Community Outreach, and Ignite Cheer even performed for us after the walk!

Also a huge shout out to all the businesses who donated to our Silent Auction: The Front Climbing ClubBallet WestUinta MattressSalt Lake Running CompanydoTERRA, Karen Kunder, POC SportsHair by HailsDicks Sporting Goods, Laura Ann Snow, Natalie Green, Gems by Gab, Simply Charming Events SLC, Momentum Indoor Climbing, Artist NinaJo, Takashi and the Natural History Museum of Utah.

This is the first of a yearly Walk for Inclusion; we hope you mark your calendars for August 2022 and join the walk for diversity, acceptance and inclusion with Special Olympics Utah next year!
