Each year, the Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) brings officers and Special Olympics Utah athletes together across the state to celebrate inclusion, friendship, and the power of sport. One of the traditions leading into the Torch Run season is the annual Torch Run T-Shirt Art Contest, where athletes are invited to submit their artwork for a chance to have their design featured on the official Torch Run shirt.
For 2026, the winning design was created by Christina Gunderson, whose artwork captured the spirit of the Torch Run and the powerful connection between law enforcement and Special Olympics athletes.
When asked about the inspiration behind her design, Christina shared:
"I was looking at some pictures of previous Torch Runs and I liked how the officers come together with the athletes. There is a special bond between us. I look forward to this event every year!"
Christina’s design stood out among the submissions and will appear on the official 2026 Law Enforcement Torch Run shirts, worn by officers, athletes, volunteers, and supporters across Utah.
The Torch Run is much more than a run — it represents a shared commitment from law enforcement agencies across the state to support Special Olympics Utah athletes through fundraising, volunteering, and advocacy.
Christina will also be recognized at the 2026 Law Enforcement Torch Run Media Day at the Utah State Capitol on May 6, where we will celebrate the partnership between law enforcement and Special Olympics athletes and kick off another exciting Torch Run season.
