Q3 Impact Report: Inclusion in Motion, Leadership in Action

As we look back on the third quarter of 2025, one theme rises above all others — inclusion in motion. Across every sport, event, and community gathering, the spirit of Special Olympics Utah continues to grow stronger — powered by athletes, Unified partners, volunteers, and supporters who believe in a more inclusive Utah for all.

By the Numbers

Because YOU said yes to inclusion, more than 2,800 athletes were impacted for good through sports, health, fitness, and leadership opportunities across Utah this quarter.

  • Summer Sports Classic Bowling • Softball • Cycling
  • Country Club Classic Golf • Pickleball
  • Healthy Athletes Fitness Classes • Health Fair • Young Athletes
  • Youth Activation & Athlete Leadership Empowering athlete voices and inclusive leadership opportunities across Utah

Additional Highlights

  • 500 volunteers gave their time, heart, and hands across seven events.
  • 300+ medals and 500+ ribbons recognized athlete achievement and effort at the Summer Sports Classic and Country Club Classic.
  • $150,000+ in partner support from generous donors and sponsors fueled the mission.

Athlete Leadership: Voices Rising Across Utah

Q3 brought continued growth in athlete leadership. Members of our Athlete Leadership Council — including Brady Johnson, Natalie Green, and Savannah Carr — represented the movement at community events, led sensitivity trainings for coaches, and even took the mic as event emcees. Their voices and actions continue to inspire all of us to be brave in the attempt.

Walk 4 Inclusion: A New Home and a New Energy

This year’s Walk 4 Inclusion stepped into its new home at Murray Park, welcoming more than 200 participants for an evening filled with energy, pride, and purpose. Athletes of all abilities walked side by side with families, volunteers, and local partners, showcasing what true inclusion looks like in motion.

Unified Champion Schools: Growth in Action

By the end of September, more than 1,600 student-athletes from 73 schools competed on 168 Unified teams across Utah. The Unified Champion Schools season culminated in an incredible two-day State Tournament featuring over 1,500 athletes, Unified partners, and coaches — a celebration of teamwork, sportsmanship, and belonging.

Pickleball Fever Sweeps Utah

Utah officially caught pickleball fever! Thanks to athlete leaders “Pickles” Karren and Daniel Austin, the first-ever Pickleball Tournament at the Country Club Classic drew more than 80 athletes — proving that a paddle, a ball, and a shared passion can build lasting connections across communities.

Together, We’re Stronger

Your support continues to drive measurable impact. From competitions to community outreach, from Unified Sports to leadership development, every moment matters. Together, we’re creating a stronger, more inclusive Utah — one athlete, one volunteer, one moment at a time.
